(R,S)-Lenalidomide is an analog of thalidomide that was originally found based on its ability to effectively inhibit tumor necrosis factor production. Lenalidomide is 50,000 times more potent than thalidomide in inhibiting Tumor Necrosis Factor-α (TNF-α).
