Description
Isoliquiritigenin (ISL) is a flavonoid found in licorice root and several other plants. Displays antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and antitumor activities as well as hepatoprotection against steatosis-induced oxidative stress. Acts as a soluble guanylyl cyclase activator. Also displays chemoprevention by induction of phase 2 enzymes such as quinone reductase, that protect cells against reactive, toxic, and potentially carcinogenic species.
