Description: Matrix metalloproteinase-19 (MMP-19) also known as matrix metalloproteinase RASI belongs to the matrix metalloproteinase family. These are involved in the breakdown of extracellular matrix in normal physiological processes, such as embryonic development, reproduction, and tissue remodeling, as well as in disease processes, such as arthritis and metastasis. MMP-19 hydrolyzes collagen type IV, laminin, nidogen, nascin-C isoform, fibronectin, and type I gelatin. It degrades various components of the extracellular matrix, such as aggrecan and cartilage oligomeric matrix protein (comp), during development, haemostasis and pathological conditions (arthritic disease). MMP-19 also plays a role in neovascularization or angiogenesis. MMP-19 is overexpressed and plays a significant role in disease progression and poor outcome in glioma patients. ’s MMP-19 (Human) ELISA Kit is used for the quantitative detection of MMP-19 in serum, psma, tissue homogenates and other biological fluids. It is based on the principle of sandwich ELISA. The capture antibody is pre-coated on 96-well plates. The standards, test samples and biotin conjugated detection antibody are added to the wells subsequently, and washed with wash buffer. HRP-Streptavidin is added and unbound conjugates are washed away with wash buffer. The HRP enzymatic reaction is detected using TMB-substrate. Finally, an acidic stop solution terminates the enzymatic reaction. The color developed is directly proportional to the amount of MMP-19 in the sample.
