Description
NQTrp is an inhibitor of amyloid β (Aβ) oligomerization and fibrillization, with an IC₅₀ of 50 nM for formation of fibrils from Aβ1-42. It reduces the cytotoxic effect of Aβ oligomers in rat PC12 neuronal cell line. It also increases the life span and completely abolishes defective locomotion in a transgenic Alzheimer's disease Drosophila model.
