Description
Osilodrostat is a potent inhibitor of the enzymes 11β-hydroxylase (CYP11B1) and aldosterone synthase (CYP11B2), which catalyze the final steps of cortisol and aldosterone biosynthesis, respectively, in the adrenal cortex. Osilodrostat inhibits 11β-hydroxylase and aldosterone synthase with IC₅₀ values of 2.5 nM and 0.7 nM respectively. It is used to lower cortisol levels in the treatment of Cushing's disease.
